What's new in Knodge version 1.6?

**Welcome to the next level of your second brain.
Version 1.6 brings massive improvements in speed, mobile use and knowledge networking. We have made the system fit for daily use - whether on a smartphone or in the lab.

🚀 Performance & "The Coach" (Smart Caching)

The heart of this update is invisible, but noticeable.

  • Intelligent caching: Under Settings you can now activate caching. Your documents are pre-processed (tokenized) in the background and kept in the model's "memory" for a defined time (session).
    The "Coach" status: You can now see the status of your "Coach" in the chat header. If it is active, answers to complex questions or SCP requests are much faster, as the document does not have to be re-read each time.
    Auto-Sleep: To conserve resources, the cache is automatically emptied after 3 hours of inactivity. This function must be explicitly activated in the settings.

📱 Mobile First & WebApp Experience

Knodge now feels like a native app on your smartphone.

Navigation at the bottom: The menu navigation has been completely revised and optimized for thumb operation. Navigation is now at the bottom of the screen.
** Direct scan: In document management, you can activate the camera directly on mobile devices, photograph documents and import them immediately.
** Seamless updates (PWA): If you use Knodge as a WebApp (added to the home screen or as a Chrome App), update problems are a thing of the past. Updates are now loaded in the background without having to reinstall the app.

🧠 New intelligence & content

Solutions Hub

At https://knodge.eu/de/solutions you will now find a growing library of concrete use cases. Get inspired by how others use Knodge - from the lab to tax returns.

Science & Sources (Science Features)

Identification recognition: Knodge now automatically recognizes DOIs, arXiv IDs or ISBN numbers in your uploads. This makes it much easier to accurately cite and verify sources in scientific work.
** ZIP import: You have entire folder structures? Simply upload a ZIP file. Knodge will unzip it and sort the contents separately for you.

Chat improvements

  • Auto-Follow-Up: The chat thinks for itself. After an answer, useful follow-up questions are automatically suggested for you to click on.
    ** Full Screen & Tables: The chat now uses the full screen (full screen mode) and displays complex data tables clearly, even on mobile devices.

🤝 Support & Automation

The new FAQ bot & feedback loop

We've integrated a dedicated FAQ chat to help you use Knodge better. But it can do even more:

  • Community-Driven Development: If you use words like QUESTION:, ERROR: or IMPROVEMENT: at the beginning of a sentence in the chat, your feedback will be directly prioritized and forwarded to our team.
    ** Status updates: If you enter your e-mail address in the chat, we will automatically inform you as soon as your reported error has been fixed or your suggestion has been implemented.

🌐 Architecture & Public

  • Multilingual Core: The system now runs on a clean language structure (/en/ or /fr/), making it easier to share links and collaborate in international teams.
  • Public Blog: Each portal now has the option to enable a public blog. Publish insights from your Knodge directly to the web.

🧪 Knodge Labs: The "Wrigge" feature (Beta)

*A glimpse into the future - test it now.

We're experimenting with cascading portals. We call it the "Wrigge" function (Working Rig / Bridge).

Portal-to-portal: Connect several Knodge portals with each other (e.g. as a HUB) to share knowledge. Of course, only if the accesses are configured accordingly.

  • Action Agents: We test commands that leave the digital world. E.G: "Send me the results via e-mail " or (experimentally via API) "Check the networked refrigerator ".
